Absulutely. This whole NHL lockout is pissing me off. Not so much about the lack of entertainment, but the stupidity of the players. Their view of the situation is so short sighted and narrow minded that I get upset everytime I hear an interview of one of their reps. I don't even think it's in their best interests what they proposing, it seems set up to help the star players and eventually hurt 3-4 of the rest of the players in the league. Rhoel.

We watch them for entertainment, just like actors. If you think an actor gets paid too much, than an athlete gets paid too much too. Also, playing sports becomes their job, whether they love the game or not. and the spectators: do they go to watch the game or to watch the players? if they just want to watch hockey, go catch a local game or look at the community leagues. if you like to watch the players, then pay them to entertain you.

Oliver, what you say is true. As it applies to every sport or entertainer outside of hockey. But when player saleries are takeing up 72% or revenues (don't know the exact amt), then something has to be done. The stars in the league aren't willing to admit that the NHL is a second teir league. It dosn't have the tv contract and streams of revenue as the other major sports. It's this unwillingness to admitt that hockey can't support these kind of saleries that's pissing me off. Rhoel.

Hey Rhoel, I think the owners has to take up part of the blame, they have overstimated the players abilities in relation to the money that they offer these guys.
They in essence created the monster, that is the staggering amount of salaries, that they are now trying to pacify. Hockey is in for a rough road ahead and frankly, the longer this lockout goes, the more bleak are the outlook for the NHL. Good thing there's other teams to follow down here in the Bay Area.
